Hello, Communication English students (and everyone)!
This blog is about a free website called Eigo.AI that is an easy way to practice your English. You can practice reading, speaking, listening, and writing! The website is at eigo.ai. You can study one free English lesson every day. You need to register the first time you visit to use the website, but then you can just sign in .It does not cost you any money to use! Each lesson has Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. In this blog I will focus on the Beginner level.
The most recent daily lessons cover many different topics. For example, Coffee Culture Around the World, The Most Luxurious Hotels in the World, Japanese Centenarians (people over 100-years old), and even The History of Halloween.
How does it work? There are five exercises. Watch, Read, Listen, Speak, Review, and Write.
Watch
In the Watch lesson you watch a short video. The video for the easy level is only 32 seconds long! It has simple words and language and there are captions so you can read along.
Read
You can read and click on any words you don’t know. A window opens and you can listen to the word and read a short definition. You can look up 25 words per day. Then you can answer some short multiple choice questions and check your answers.
Listen
For the listening section, you type in the words as you listen and then you can check your answers.
Speak
For the speaking exercise you can listen to each phrase and then speak into the microphone. The AI checks you for accuracy, fluency, and completeness.
Review
The review lesson asks multiple choice questions to check your understanding.
Write
Lastly, you can write a short answer. At the Beginner level, there are only up to 100 words. The computer checks your punctuation, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, word choice, how clear your writing is, how well you answered the question.
Again, Eigo.AI is free and they are always adding new topics to practice!. This website is a great way to improve your English.
