Welcome or welcome back to my blog! In previous blogs, I have written about various ways to study English. This time, I am writing about software program called Duolingo. With Duolingo you can study English and many other languages using Japanese or many other languages using English.
Duolingo is a great way to help you in your English classes at Nagoya University of Arts (NUA), whether you are taking Communication English or 英語 classes. You can also continue studying English after you leave Geidai.
Duolingo is free to use! There is a pay service called Duolingo Plus, but the free version of Duolingo is fine, and it is a good place to start if you are not sure if Duolingo is right for you.
How to get started with Duolingo:
- Go to duolingo.com: duolingo.com

Here are the steps to join the open Duolingo Classroom. This version is for students whose teacher doesn't set up a special Duolingo classroom connected to the Google Classroom.
Step 1
Click this link to join the Duolingo Classroom:

You will see this page:
Click on "Yes, JOIN"
Step 2
On this page, please choose the GOOGLE link. There is a chance you might see a menu offering a list of your email accounts on your device. You can choose your Geidai account from that list.
Step 3
Please use your 名古屋芸術大学 account, st@23XXXXXX@nua.ac.jp. Use your own Geidai email address!
Step 4
Type in your Geidai account password.
Step 5
Start studying!
Start learning!
Tips for Using Duolingo:
Study every day even for just 10 minutes. It's like learning music or art. You need to keep practicing! You can listen while on the subway or train. If you don't have headphones and are listening to the speaker Duolingo will give you an option to do the listening part later.
